As noted in the previous shot, "Hangar 2173" contains exhibits of past cable cars and equipment which have been used on the mountain.

I believe that this was one of the gears used on the old cable cars, one of which will be seen in the next shot.

Image 4988 showed that the current wheels are sturdy and robust; they needed to be back in 1947, when the first Skyway was built, as well.
