Yellow-billed Cuckoo

Canaan Valley, West Virginia

On this cool (57° F) morning with on/off light rain, I was sitting on our covered and open front porch waiting for an electrician to show for job estimate.
At first, this cuckoo obviously didn't see me and flew in landing in a maple tree just off my porch.
He moved down the branch, then flew over to a beechnut tree and stayed well hidden.
Next, he flew to the far side of our cabin but remained still visible. He appeared to be searching for someone/something.
No calls heard. See 'previous' for one of my closest images.

Great find and image Don. Like Tom, I've yet to photograph or see one of these.
