Yellow-billed Cuckoo

Canaan Valley, West Virginia

On this cool (57° F) morning with on/off light rain, I was sitting on our covered and open front porch waiting for an electrician to show for job estimate.
This cuckoo obviously didn't initially see me and flew in landing in a maple tree just off my porch.
He moved down the branch, then flew over to a beechnut tree and stayed well hidden.
Next, he flew to the far side of our cabin but remained still visible. He appeared to be searching for someone/something. No calls heard.
