Although my husband did all the work in removing the old flooring and fixing the squeaks and other repairs with the kitchen subflooring, we are having a professional install the new flooring. Dear hubby originally wanted to do everything himself because he really enjoys doing things around the house. He's quite amazing. However, I want the new floor installed in just a few hours and not in a few days or weeks as it would probably take my husband who isn't as young as he used to be.

Meanwhile, the pro we've hired (who really knows his business) has said that the flooring to be installed needs to sit in the kitchen for at least several days before installation.

As soon as our new refrigerator gets delivered, we'll then call the floor installer to get on his calendar for a date when he is available to put the floor down. So, things are moving along. I'm not sure why the new flooring needs to first adjust to the same room where it is going before installation. But here it is.
