I am presently still not able to take pictures, but my splint was removed last Thursday, so I hope to be back in the saddle later this week. In the interim, for image quality comparisons, I am continuing with postings of images taken with the various cameras that I've owned over the past 20 +/- years; however, this is my last posting in this series as I've run out of cameras LOL.
The above image was taken in 2024 with my seventh DSLR, the 20.9 Mpx Nikon D500. I still have the D500 and it still works very well. I bought it in 2018. I used it for the first 5 years with the Nikon 200-500 mm F5.6E lens and more recently almost exclusively with my Nikon 500mm E PF5.6 lens. This is a great combo for wildlife photograph, hence, it was my final DSLR purchase.
In summary, in 20 years+\- I've purchased 7 DSLR cameras, I still own three (D7200 & D800 as spares and the D500 as my primary camera). All three are in good working order. Only once, in 20 years did I have to return one of my cameras to Nikon for repair; namely, the most expensive one, the D800.
The photos I've posted in this series illustrate that all seven DSLR cameras I've owned can provide some beautiful sharp images. Technology has of course facilitated the taking of good photographs; hence, the question remains - should I or should I not take the plunge to mirrorless??
