Two days ago I thought I left my Pixel in a restaurant and finally agreed that it was really gone and had T-Mobile put a new sim card in my previous phone, a Samsung S22+, so I was without a phone for only a couple of hours after I discovered it was done.
Today I went out on the deck to blow off some debris and spotted my missing phone on a table that was open to the sky which has been raining down torrents for several days. It was lying face up and the glass was covered with water.
I thought "How could this have survived all that rain?".
Well...it did...and it works. There were a few drops on the camera cover which I wiped off. There was a little water under the cover which I blotted up and a little in the USB port, but after soaking that up and allowing the phone to dry off I attached the charger and did not get a message that the usb port showed moisture - something that lots of phones report!
Kudos to the water resistance of the Pixel 8 and this marvelous case.
I'm going to have to stop by that restaurant and tell them I found the phone.
