Rannoch looper moth (Macaria brunneata), #6286

Larose Forest

A new species for me, and not one that was even on my radar. According to iNaturalist, there is only one previous record for the species in the region which includes Larose Forest. I imagine there are more records around here than that suggests, but most records on iNaturalist come from Central and Northern Ontario.

Posing diurnally and butterfly-like. A fine moth, record and photo.
