Zig Zagging Stone Walls in the Dales

Our driver told us that they put the wire fencing up because some of the sheep could climb the walls.

Have to admire the climbing ambitions of the sheep, but the additional fortification kind of detracts from the ancient walls. Oh well modern sheep require modern solutions I guess.

Love the one lonely sheep in the shot...

Can only wonder why they would choose to use twice as many stones to do that pattern. Hard to belive the property lines would be like that.
