The Broad leaf Shooting Star is a common wild flower found along the coastal forests to the prairies and even in Nevada (in many places in North America) Growing from tubers, it varies in size, but is quite small in general producing a single 5-10mm flower atop of a thread like stem. This one has a 2-3" width and sits about the same off the forest floor. I had to get in an interesting position to bring in that wonderful bokeh light.
