A hoar frosted Scots pine and similarly frosted and twisted birch trees at the edge of a small pine island at Slattadale on Loch Maree. I needed to use a long lens to compress perspective with the cold blue frosted tree against the warm colours of first light striking the flanks of the mountains bordering the loch on the opposite shore. A three shot focus stack maintained adequate sharpness throughout.
