The hoar frosted island pine trees at Slattadale on a very fine winter morning just before sunrise on a clear cloudless and exceptionally still day. It may have been somewhat lacking the intense colours I had hoped for but the seductively smooth transition of tones from violet to caramel were extremely beguiling and ultimately very appealing.
