Clavicorona taxophila

Millersylvania State Park, Washington

Yew Club
Shaped like a golf tee, the lone representative of its genus in the family Auriscalpiaceae is this small club-shaped basidiocarp that attains no more than in inch in height. It is pure white With a wavy flattened or mildly cup-shaped top. It is most often associated with yew, but not limited to it. The fungus is odorless with little or nothing known of its toxicity, but size alone disrecommends it for culinary purposes.
