Dust Storm 9-20-23

It's been so dry this Summer that much of our grass has died off.
This is what happened while my husband was mowing the grass.

It was very difficult to breath outdoors.
I rushed indoors as soon as I saw this coming toward me,
but not before I breathed in some of above; which left me feeling ill.
This kind of stuff isn't supposed to get into one's nose and lungs.

I see above as another sign of Climate Change.

Here is an interesting (and not very reassuring) article
addressing the problem of dust: https://public.wmo.int/en/resources/bulletin/airborne-dust-hazard-human-health-environment-and-society

Although totally unheard of in the past, our area is now seeing cases of Valley Fever.
The world's ecology seems to be more and more out of balance.

Great capture, and wonderful commentary
of the perils at our age of breathing this in!

A problem being so dry but it does make for a pretty photo.

Both beautiful and Yikes! all at once I'm definitely sorry for you and your husband being caught in it.

There is such a fine line between the beauty of this capture and the underlying problem ~V~
