The sun was shining brightly while the rain came pouring down.
The rain lasted for over 20 minutes.
That was a surprisingly long time.
Far longer than I've ever seen before with a "sun shower".
But around here, the unusual seems to be becoming the norm.
It wasn't until an hour later that the clouds finally moved in.
Then, there was a menacing sky & a lot of thunder.
However, there was no more rain.
Plus, this did not help to relieve the drought.
Yes, I did get wet photographing the scene when the rain first started.
Luckily, I had my weather sealed pro camera equipment at the time, or else I would have had big problems.

"A sunshower or sun shower is a meteorological phenomenon in which rain falls while the sun is shining. A sunshower is usually the result of accompanying winds associated with a rain storm sometimes miles away, blowing the airborne raindrops into an area where there are no clouds, therefore causing a sunshower."
