Back in York and ready to check out one of the pubs our driver recommended.
While Charlie was checking out the pub sign I was taking a photo of one of the entrances to the ancient wall that surrounds the city.
York was founded by the Romans around 71 AD but was taken over by the Vikings.
The wall you see in the distance was built by the Romans and goes all the way around the city.
There was a lot to see in York and we enjoyed our visit there very much.
