A Doe 7-02-23

Fill the Frame Image.

Because the next door neighbor feeds them, deer in our neighborhood have become quite habituated.
So, they do not fear humans and will come quite close. They will come right up to our deck.

Because of the diseases and parasites, they can carry, I'm not overly thrilled about this. The above female has several ticks attached to her one ear. A couple of days later, I found two ticks on Bailey who never gets off our deck. That was very upsetting.

I like deer, but I don't like them this close in my yard.

A fine portrait. Love her bright eye and how well she shows against the background.

Nicely captured, but yes, they can be a problem when they come close.

Our neighbor's labradoodle was very seriously injured when she was stomped on by an aggressive doe. Possibly the same deer tried to attack Kailey. Kailey ran to me and the deer finally stopped chasing her when I yelled loudly. They can be dangerous.

On the other hand I feel sorry for the deer when the ticks get on them.

She is gorgeous! I understand your concern over the ticks, especially on little Bailey. V

A great portrait, but I can't blame you for not wanting them around your property. And poor Bailey!
