OK, the book will close on panoramas today. I went out to the hangar and shot some 4 and 5 frame panos with the Powershot G5X Mk2, Powershot SX70 HS and Powershot D30. These are the cameras I am going to take with us when we go to American Samoa and Independent Samoa in late September. The D30 is a waterproof camera which I have had for 8 years. It has mostly been used on excursions where I wouldn't want to take other cameras because of exposure to water. I have only used it in the water twice: Blue Lagoon in Iceland and a snorkeling trip on Maui. We are going to have a lot of snorkeling days in Samoa.

Anyway, the bottom line is (actually two bottom lines) 1) shooting panels is easy and you get reliable results with any camera and 2) Lightroom photo merge works well. It is easier than Photoshop. One thing to remember is that you get some "wasted " corners where there is no image so don't shoot too tight when you take the panels. Today the photo is from the D30. BTW, the cropped original is 7932 X 1908 pixels. That is a lot of pixels. The photo for pBase was reduced to 800 X 192.
