This was a nice surprise when we confirmed our train tickets at Waverley Train Station in Edinburgh.
We were off to Falkirk to see the Kelpies.
It was only a thirty minute ride.
We had read that you could walk to the Kelpies from the train station.
When we arrived in Falkirk we were the only ones to get off the train and there was no one at the station.
We didn’t see any signs so we asked a man in a postal truck which way to the Kelpies.
He looked at us like we were crazy and then smiled and said “Just go up to that road and keep walking down the longest road you ever saw.”
We still didn’t see any signs and our phones did not have any wifi.
We looked across the street and saw The Acoustic Cafe.
Google it up, it was a really neat place.
We had a great conversation with the woman running the place.
We also had a delicious scone and something to drink while a young man played one of the many guitars that hang on the walls.
It was decided we should take a taxi out to the Kelpies.
We were very glad we listened to the woman as we never saw any signs and it was quite a ride out there.
