The cured First Contact polymer film is surprisingly strong. It peels easily from the mirror in a
single piece leaving behind an exquisitely clean surface. A more cost effective alternative to First
Contact would be Collodion. I've used 'New Skin' liquid bandage on secondary mirrors for cleaning and
also to protect them when removed from the scope. 'New Skin' is somewhat similar to collodion but
not very strong when cured, I find it unsuitable for anything larger than a secondary.
