A very, very tight crop since I only had the 17mm lens with me.
I am still learning the different birds here, these (lorikeets?) were fighting for the prime spot on top of the fountain in the botanic gardens.

Ah, Laine beat me to it. Yes, Rainbow Lorikeets indeed. If you need to see more of them just come over to my balcony of an afternoon where they hit me up for a slice of bread and honey as an afternoon snack. There are only two of them tt the moment and although there is a whole slice of bread (meaning plenty for both of them), they have to argue over who gets first dibs on it.

Rainbow Lorikeets, they love splashing in water...they a very friendly and they love native garden plants, feeders and birdbaths a few that come and go in our garden https://pbase.com/lainesphotos/parrots
