Suzy loved the water and went in every chance she got, which made it easy to give her a bath, even with a garden hose, unlike our other dogs, who hated baths.

While living in Canberra, we adopted a puppy from a neighbor and named her Suzy. She was half Blue Heeler (Australian cattle dog) and half Border Collie. Suzy lived with us in Washington and Tokyo as well, but we entrusted her to Tim’s mother when we moved to Ankara since she was getting on in years and we had been warned that adequate veterinary services were sorely lacking in Turkey, especially for older dogs. Tim last saw Suzy in Oregon in 2000, shortly before she passed away at the age of 15.
