NCG 1532 is a barred spiral galaxy, located about 70 million light years from earth in the
constellation Eridanus. This galaxy and one of its satellite galaxies (here seen just above
NGC 1532) have been gravitationally interacting with each other. The result is that the
arms of NGC 1532 have been pulled out of shape, and are experiencing a burst of new star
formation (seen in the bright blobs of red and blue in the galaxy).
