Katz Castle

If you have a Maus you have to have a Katz.
Katz Castle is a familiar presence on the Rhine since the 14th century.
It was heavily damaged by Napoleon’s forces in 1806 and rebuilt in the Victorian era.
As we floated along seeing all these wonderful sights our cruise director had a story about each of them.
I just wish I could remember all the fun stories.
Maybe it was the hot chocolate and amaretto that clouded my memory.

A fine shot, quite the contrast between the old part and the new or restored sections.

A majestic castle indeed. I'm sure there's a gazillion stories from within those walls.

Beautifully captured! I remember seeing Burg Katz in 2003 and took a picture of it with my first digital camera Canon G3. V

Very nice view of Burg Katz. It's taken a beating over the centuries and was unfortunately owned by the German government for years before becoming the private home of a Japanese businessman. "V"

Great shot of this impressive castle, which looks like it's had some updating since it was rebuilt. V.
