The Courtyard of the Spitting Boy

Koblenz is such an attractive city and all I have shown you are some statues.
This is the beautiful courtyard where the Spitting Boy resides.
It is located near Koblenz City Hall or Rathaus.
The Spitting boy statue was created by Carl Burger in 1940 celebrating a local poet Josef Cornelius.
I caught him here when he wasn't spitting!
Many thanks to pbase friends Walter and Boris for enlightening me on the correct spelling of the name of the Spitting Boy.
It is Schängel and has been corrected on the previous photo.
I would rather trust my German friends than the internet for the correct spelling.

a fine old building, conservative yet stylish, with added character from the dormers...the boy seems to be dancing between spits..
