The Milless

Here is our guide for the oldest Windmill at Kinderdijk.
A family lived at this sight but she was taking care of the place for the day.
She said the person who took care of the windmill was called a Miller.
Someone asked her what a woman was called who took care of the windmill.
Her reply was a Milless and then she smiled.
She showed us how the Miller could turn the windmill to get the most out of the wind by climbing up some stairs and standing on the spokes.
This old windmill was still in working condition and was still used.
We got to go inside and look around after her talk.
It was tight in there but pretty neat looking.

If you view this in original you can see more details.

What a lovely windmill and I agree with Gill - what was old is now new! Wind power. V

Nice double shot. Like the portrait of the guide with her wooden shoes and that background. The old windmill is fascinating to see. "V"

Smart guide ready for those special questions.
Looks like it is still raining.
I know you found the inside interesting even though
a little tight she probably use to the wooden shoes
and careful while walking or climbing stairs.

The "Millass" was dressed for the day. I never realized the Mill was turned to catch the wind. How logical. "V"
