Monarch chrysalis

Larose Forest

For the September Accents challenge.

September is the time when many species migrate, including Monarchs. Here a Chrysalis has just been formed and in a short time the monarch will emerge and hopefully begin its journey south. Inset is the caterpillar in the J-position which the monarch larva assumes prior to forming the chrysalis.

I saw the monarch late afternoon the day before and next day returned to find it had indeed formed the chrysalis.

C’est fantastique de pouvoir admirer cette chrysalide grâce à votre photo. Elle paraît tout lisse et brillante,
Merci pour les explications.
