More a roadside "distraction" than attraction.
Most people probably wouldn't have even noticed him.
However, with my 600mm lens in the car,
I made an abrupt stop, put my blinkers on, slid across to the passenger seat, opened the window, and stuck my 13-pound lens and 3-pound camera body out the window.
The harsh backlighting wasn't at all favorable for photography. Still, I managed a couple of decent photos anyhow. Today, an ugly, big steel outbuilding now stands on the corner where this heron used to fish. Ugh. I'm glad I took the time to stop back when the area was still more natural. This was a moment in time that has been lost to modern "progress".
