Although we can sometimes see the fireworks through the trees in our backyard, the Country Club a few miles from us put on a particularly large display this Memorial Day weekend. Some of the blasts actually cleared the top of our trees and made it possible for us to clearly see a few. Because I had no intention to photograph this event (or even remembered that it might happen), I just grabbed a Bridge Camera and fired off a few handheld shots.
This Country Club is by invitation only exclusive. I've been told that if you ask "how much" the membership may cost, then, you absolutely can't afford it. Nevertheless, we (not members) do occasionally get to see their fireworks displays (random) for free from our yard. That was great when our trees were not as tall as they are now. However, in recent years, few of the fireworks displays ever clear the top of our trees. So, we usually only get a peak like this: https://pbase.com/britestar/image/169293945
Some of our treetops are even still present in the above image. Looking at my camera speed and the high ISO, I'm a little surprised that this handheld shot from my bridge camera actually turned out pretty good. Shooting fireworks handheld with a tiny sensor bridge camera is a totally different ball game than using a DSLR on a tripod.
