Because our holiday plans got rained out, we were at home by dark. From our back deck, we could see a fireworks display in the distance. Unfortunately, the trees are now too high and too dense to get a clear shot of distant fireworks that far away. My camera that night was just a bridge camera (which was what I had at hand). The trees (and the houses behind us) also now block the view. Most of this display did not even clear the tops of the roofs behind us. Those blasts that did clear were diffused by the leaves on our trees.
Nevertheless, I found this camera effect of the fireworks display through the trees interesting. This fireworks display may not have been as dramatic as the closer, surprise display in mid May, but it was memorable.
When we first moved here many moons ago, there were no trees. Nor other houses. On a major holiday like Memorial Day or the Fourth of July, we could clearly see fireworks in 5 different directions from our back deck; including from the big city. Good memories.
