It was a combination relocation and museum day. After church we went to the Nevada State Museum and the Origen Museum, both at the Springs Reserves in Las Vegas. They were pretty interesting. Perhaps the one tidbit that was new to me was that Abraham Lincoln fast tracked statehood for Nevada in 1864 because he needed their electoral votes for re-election. He made it just in time.
The relocation took us to Baker, Nevada via Ely, Nevada. Ely was our last chance for lower price gas and groceries. Baker is a very small town. In the grocery store (Ridley's, to be exact) we found some nice barbecue sandwiches. Ginny chose pulled pork with beans and slaw and I got beef with mac and cheese and slaw. We also stocked up on food for the next three days.
Upon arrival in Baker, we found that our preparedness was a good thing. There are no real groceries available, but the Stargazer Inn & Bristlecone General Store (where we are staying) has beer, wine and some snack-like commodities.
Today's photo is of Ginny digging into her dinner. It was very good. The sandwich was so big that we have something for breakfast.
