Our visit today was to Valley of Fire State Park, just northeast of Las Vegas. As we drove in, the rock formations made us think we were in Utah. Lots of red rock. We hiked a couple of short trails. There were several areas with petroglyphs. Compared to the last two parks we visited, this was the best by far. As we were driving in, there were a couple of mountain goats on the side of the road. Ginny got lucky with today's photo. It seems that most times we photograph wildlife we only get the rear ends.
