As I was going through my photos from last summer I realized I never put any of Van Gogh’s Japanese period in this gallery.
Some of my favorite pieces of his are from this period.
In 1886 Vincent moved to Paris to stay with his brother.
They both began collecting Japanese prints.
Vincent felt they were equal to the great masterpieces of Western Art.
He admired Japanese artists for the way they lived in harmony with Nature.
