Spotted Towhees are birds of dry thickets, brushy tangles, forest edges and places with dense shrub cover and plenty of leaf litter to scratch around in. During the breeding season, they mainly eat insects, ground-dwelling beetles, spiders, and other arthropods. In the fall and winter, they focus on foraging for acorns, seeds oats, and berries. ~ All About Birds
