"Pink Flamingo"

The Galapagos

"Pink Flamingos" is a song by Tracy Byrd: Track 10 on the Album “An Ordinary Man”

Chorus:
We got pink flamingos in the front yard
Picture window with a view of Wal-Mart
Blue collar heaven domestic bliss
It just doesn't get any better than this
We got pink flamingos, pink flamingos, pink flamingos

Tracy Lynn Byrd is an American country music artist. Byrd has charted more than thirty hit singles in his career, including eleven additional Top Ten hits. He has also released ten studio albums and two greatest-hits albums, with four gold certifications and one double-platinum certification from the RIAA. No Ordinary Man was the title of Byrd's second album. It was also his highest selling, earning a double-platinum certification for U.S. sales of two million copies.

“Pink Flamingos” is also the title of a 1972 John Water’s cult movie that has earned this quote: “The most outrageous film ever made? Pink Flamingos was so shocking that it was only widely distributed a decade after it was made.”

John Samuel Waters Jr. is an American filmmaker, writer, actor, and artist. Born and raised in Baltimore, Waters rose to fame in the early 1970s for his transgressive cult films, including Multiple Maniacs (1970), Pink Flamingos (1972), and Female Trouble (1974). He wrote and directed the 1988 film Hairspray which became an international success and was later adapted into a hit Broadway musical.

I prefer "Pink Flamingos": the song 100%. I would absolutely NOT recommend the movie.

As for my photo:

The pink or reddish color of flamingos comes from carotenoids in their diet of animal and plant plankton. American flamingos are a brighter red color because of the beta carotene availability in their food while the lesser flamingos are a paler pink due to ingesting a smaller amount of this pigment.
