Super Bowl Hopes Dashed

Unlike some Chiefs fans https://pbase.com/britestar/image/172311333 , we watched the AFL Championship Game on TV from the safety of our own home. Of course, all Chiefs fans everywhere, all around the world, were hoping for a Chiefs’ win. But that just wasn’t meant to be.

“Chiefs vs. Bengals score: Cincinnati advances to Super Bowl with overtime win sparked by second-half rally. Through the first two quarters, it looked like the Chiefs were destined to reach the Super Bowl for the third consecutive season. They started the day scoring touchdowns on their first three possessions and went into the locker room with a double-digit lead at halftime. The switch was flipped for Cincinnati in the second half, particularly on defense. They were able to get after Mahomes and throw the entire Chiefs offense off-kilter.” CBS Sports

The Chiefs’ winning would have been nice. Still when the “other team” did instead, it didn’t ruin our day. We had a nice Sunday. The moment I first took the Chis’ little Chiefs’ outfits out, all three girls started to dance around happily and actually begged to have me dress them up. Funny dogs. During commercial breaks on TV, I was able to take some really cute photos of them as they played together. Although the game on TV didn’t go as we would have liked, I can say that we still all had a nice time together as a family. My husband made cheese popcorn for the first time, and the silly dogs made us laugh. Chile looks a bit droopy above because she was starting to get sleepy near the end of the game. Or perhaps she really was sad about what happened following the coin toss.

Hopefully, the Chiefs’ luck will be better next year. Patrick Mahomes isn’t finished yet.
Now, I have to decide who I want to root for in the Super Bowl this year. I kind of like the Bengals being the “Underdog”. They are now where the Chiefs were 3 years ago. Before Andy Reid & Mahomes, the Chiefs hadn't had a trip to the Super Bowls in 50 years.

So, Kansas City knows well what it is to be an "underdog".

Oh, one can feel the disappointment from this super fan. Lovely shot. V

Oops! I'm okay with an all-underdog Super Bowl.

Sorry to say, but I was rooting for the Bengals, being the underdog by far. If San Francisco (my hometown) had won the other playoff, they'd be my choice in the Super Bowl, but not being a fan of anything Los Angeles, I'll have to go with Cincinnati for that, too. Cute capture of a disappointed fan, though!

I feel sorry for you and the others chief-s fans.
