Silver-spotted skipper butterfly larva (argyreus clarus)

Larose Forest

The head of the caterpillar. The orange dots are not eyes, the eyes are the small dots on the edge of the orange. These larvae turn into striking butterflies: https://pbase.com/laroseforest/image/113441902

A remarkable larva, almost like it has a green cloak hiding a dark body. Can't say I've ever seen s skipper larva - I must look harder.

He has the look of an alien being. A super nice shot.

Incredible detail! I don't think I've ever seen a photo that shows a caterpillars head as well as this.
