This morning we headed out to Siwa Oasis. It is out in the western desert of Egypt and has been occupied for thousands of years. Being an oasis, there is plentiful water available. Our hotel, the Adrere Amellal is isolated. It is built in the local style with mud covered walls. Although very nice it has no electricity. There is running water so there are showers and toilets. The rooms are lit with candles after dark. Very romantic. We spent the afternoon and early evening on an excursion into Siwa town. We had a short walk through the town then a stop for some tea. Then it was back to the hotel for a great dinner with entertainment. The staff has many musicians and we were treated to a concert of Bedouin music. Very enjoyable.
Today's photo is of Ginny riding in the tuk tuk into town. I call it her hood ornament look.
