The Tragedy of a Poet.

In October Pierre Paul Roux returned to the manor and found it looted and all his writings torn, burned, stolen... The shock was great. He quickly fell ill and died a few days later.
The manor was then occupied by enemy troops in 1941 and bombed by the Allies in 1945.

The image itself is haunting and barren yet beautiful. The information you included adds perspective to this scene and location. A powerful combination of beauty and tragedy. VV

What began as a thing of happiness and beauty ended in the complete opposite. The futility of wars. Very sad. V

that's a touching tale of Roux and his misfortunes....now the ruin stands like a monument above a near barren terrain reflecting the poet's sad fate..
