So "walkout" is the one you access via the small door?

We have 3 attic space access. Two are scuttle holes in closet ceilings and the 3rd is a small door in a bedroom wall where the builder figured he take shortcuts and not fully finish the upper floor. One of the scuttle holes I added because I could see with my thermal camera that the builder didn’t insulate the upper walls and it was always colder/hotter in that area so I opened it up and added two rolls of R 19 insulation myself. I think the biggest TV in our house is 50" or so, and I have no desire for anything larger.

What is the "walkout section" of an attic? The attic in our present house is accessed by a trap door in a closet ceiling, and I have gone no farther than poking my head up into it.

Do I remember correctly that silverfish feast on paper? That's not always a good thing to have in one's attic.

Bigger TV, oh man I see you and I think alike. The other…. well you know who I mean nixed anything over 65”, 75 would have done the trick. I do have the old wood mantle just hanging out up in the walkout section of the attic which just got a healthy coating of Bayer Delta Dust since the silverfish were trying to make a comeback.
If I were to reinstall it I’d have to get creative to remount it since I modified or should I say removed the support bricks. Paul

It's pea gravel, not mortar. Some stones were removed from an area where new trees were planted, and the same guy did a great job of using them to create a new path to one of our house's hose bibbs. He used the most basic tools to cleave one that was much larger than necessary.

Maybe you should have gotten a larger TV that covered the area where the mantle had been. Did you save the mantle in case you ever want to reinstall it?

The contractor did a great job of making the new mortar look old. Wish I could do that to my fire place where I took down the mantle and put up a TV bracket that needed a few minor brick and mortar adjustments. Paul

Thanks, all. Previous owners did a lot of work that we are happy to maintain. All the flagstone was re-set this spring.

I especially like the flagstone walk thru your garden. ⚡️Paul⚡️

It was a very fecund summer. No covid, thankfully (knock wood).

Looks wet, full of life, full of oxygen....yum, better than food (especially if you are a covid patient...ahem). Traveller
