"The United States has reached another grim milestone in its fight against the devastating Covid-19 pandemic: 1 in 500 of all Americans have died from coronavirus since the nation's first reported infection.
As of Tuesday night, 663,913 people in the US have died of Covid-19, according to Johns Hopkins University data. According to the US Census Bureau, the US population as of April 2020 was 331.4 million."
This disease death toll only took 19 months.
Although this 1 in 500 statistic takes in the entire American population, only 41+, out of every 310 + Americans, have been infected to date. Frankly, "only" is a really horrible word to use to describe all this suffering. To date, more Americans still have not yet had COVID than those who have. That makes the above 1 in 500 deaths of the total US population even more devastating.
Food for Thought:
If all Americans would eventually become COVID infected, the death toll could soar to absolutely inconceivable numbers. No family would be untouched. Meanwhile, the COVID Pandemic - with more and more people becoming infected (many becoming horribly ill) continues on. An increasing death toll, with the loss of more & more American lives, also continues on...
PLEASE get vaccinated!
Wear a Mask!!!
Don't be selfish.
Stop the spread.
Do your part to help end this deadly pandemic.
It is killing both young and old. It can kill you or someone you love.
Only Americans doing the right thing can help stop America's anguish and prevent even more needless deaths.
