“US falls to lowest vaccination rates among world’s wealthiest democracies. We've got the vaccines, but suddenly it's become tribal warfare in the United States about whether or not you want to be vaccinated. And that's an insane thing. It's so dangerous to our system and decidedly worse than in any other advanced industrial economy. You do not see this level of dysfunction in the UK, in Canada, in Germany, in France, in Japan, etc.”
“Canada leads the G7 countries in vaccination rates, with almost three-quarters of its population at least partially vaccinated.”
At the same time, “India gave more jabs than G7 nations combined in August. This was more doses than all the Group of Seven (G7) countries - Canada, the UK, the US, Italy, Germany, France and Japan - put together, according to an official statement. The government aims to vaccinate all eligible Indians by the end of 2021.”

“Researchers found that people who weren't fully vaccinated were 4.5 times more likely than vaccinated people to contact COVID, 10 times more likely to be hospitalized, and 11 times more likely to die from the disease.
“On Tuesday, the New York Times reported that the chance of the average vaccinated American contracting COVID is about 1 in 5,000 per day—and probably lower if you take additional precautions (like wearing a face mask) or live in a highly vaccinated area.
“Infection rates are nearly four times higher in the least vaccinated states than in the most vaccinated states. "Delta is a problem. Vaccine hesitancy is a bigger problem."
Stats for where we live is a 34% vaccination rate and a current 23% COVID positivity rate. As the vaccination rate went up 3% during the past month, the COVID positivity rate went down 10%. Masks are not required in our County or State. However, a fairly high percentage of the fully vaccinated still wear masks in public because of the high rate of maskless, non vaccinated people around them. Sadly, the majority of unvaccinated do NOT mask up.
