We do not have Roseate Spoonbills here in upstate NY, nor Wood Storks, yet both showed up here. We also got several Black Bellied Whistling Ducks and a Cattle Egret. It's been a remarkable year for rare birds. I love the beautiful spoonbill. Twice it was in a pool at the refuge so it was fairly close. Right now all these rarities are in another marsh. When photographing them they fill the focus point on your sensor. That makes a big bird very distant. But, it's been exciting just to see them.
