Camera, solar filter, and remote shutter release setup.

I practiced the use of the solar filter on an old camera first. You definitely need it firmly attached before seeking the sun in the viewfinder, so as not to burn out your sensor and your eyes! Also, set to ISO 100, manual settings, and take your first images with a fast shutter speed and work your way down. The sun looks golden in my images because of the late time of the afternoon and because a less-bright exposure gave better resolution - otherwise the light from the sun would have blown out the silhouette of the ISS.
