We traveled from Charleston to Savannah early this morning and ended up with a full day of touring. First stop was Fort Pulaski. This was very well done. The facilities were great and the ranger talk was first rate.
Next was the Savanah History Museum. When we got there we found there was also a railroad museum so we did them both. We found out that Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Scouts, was a native of Savannah. Who woulda thunk?
The highlight of the day, by far, was a dinner cruise on the Savannah River aboard the Georgia Queen. It was an anniversary dinner for us. The reason is that Ginny planned this trip for last August and we were going to do the cruise on our actual 46th anniversary. Then covid struck and we had to cancel. They wouldn't refund our money so we rebooked for this trip. We got the anniversary special and had a great time. There was dancing which was a hoot. Ginny and I put on a pretty good Texas two step demonstration to the delight of the crowd.
