Sasha - 2007 - 2021

It is with a very heavy heart that I post this collage of Sasha, who was peacefully euthanized yesterday morning. She had been doing so well until Sunday morning when I awoke to find her back legs paralyzed. Over Sunday and Monday she became increasingly distressed at being unable to walk, and helping her to do so made her more distressed, so I knew it was time.

I won't be commenting on photos for a few days as I am dealing with the loss of my best friend, who was with me almost 24/7 since coming home with me on January 20, 2012 from a rescue centre. She had a very difficult first 5 years, tied up with many other dogs in terrible conditions. Once she came here I was determined she'd never be unhappy again!

My heart breaks for you. Words cannot express the sadness I felt as read that beautiful Sasha has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Your collage is a wonderful tribute to a girl who was a piece of your heart. You gave her happiness and love. She gave the same back to you. I understand how you now need time to yourself after such a great loss. Although now gone from this world, Sasha will always live on in your heart. I send you my sincere condolences beyond what mere words can convey.

Oh Christine, I'm so sorry to hear about Sasha, but you did the right thing by her. I lost my dog many years ago so I know a little of what you're going through. Big hugs...

Oh dear Christine... I am so sorry to hear this. I remember when you brought her home like it was yesterday. You've been a wonderful, loving dog-mom. She was fortunate to be adopted by you.

I am so very sorry and understand the difficult decision you had to make. You gave her a good life and I am sure she loved you as much as you loved her. Our pets are truly family and we interact with them every day and they bring such joy into our lives. When I lost my other little black pug, Ms. Bailey Bentwhiskers... a little pug with attitude after she had a cardiac arrest having her nails clipped at the vet's office, I cried more tears than imaginable and made a book on Blurb to remember her by. It was therapeutic... and I guess you could call it her obituary. That book is so precious to me. I want to put my arms around you and give you a big hug! Sasha was so fortunate to have spent those years with you!

Dear Christine, there is nothing I can say to heal the heartbreak .
Sasha has joined many of our faithful friends as she passed over the Rainbow Bridge including my three wonderful dogs.
She had a happy and comfortable life with you. RIP Sasha.

My thoughts are with you Christine during this sad time. I went through a similar experience some years ago when I had to hold our little dog whilst she was put to sleep. I sat in my car for some time afterwards and cried. We had enjoyed her for some 14 years. I wish you strength and comfort in the days ahead.
