Signs of Civilization - Passing Wind

Terlingua Ghost Town, Texas

You can't help by wonder when you see a submarine conning tower in the middle of the desert.
Passing Wind is a property located in Historic Terlingua Ghost Town, Terlingua, Texas. and is the brainchild of Jimmy Holbrook from NYC.

Passing Wind definitely adds color to an area already brimming with colorful characters and establishments.
On the property you will find Flags of the USA, Texas, the Marines, and POW/MIAs, a miniature Statue of Liberty,
a miniature marine statue in dress blues, THE party cabana, a custom built volcano and a pirate ship.
Property was for sale, sad to say.

Cool find along the highway. If you want weirdness, go the desert.

An interesting view on these subjects from the road. Indeed not what you would expect here. !V

There seems to be ship masts too. It is definitely intriguing. V

A roadside attraction, that might be worth a stop!

Another nod to the cast of colourful folk inhabiting this part of the state! V

somehow thought we wouldn't ever mention passing wind, but there you go...seems an unusual site, perhaps worth a snoop, if only to see a custom built volcano...good shot to identify the view from the road..

There's another interesting detail here. 593 was the pennant number of the USS Thresher, lost with all hands during deep dive tests in 1963. My guess is that this was intended as a monument to those lost in the incident.

Must be nice to have disposable income. Interesting capture!
