Damaged 2-24-21

from the Arctic Blast

*******************
Today has been one week since the worst of the Arctic blast in the Mid West freezer burned the above succulent in my photo. At that time, it was still in my Solar Room. When I finally managed to desperately squeeze it into our overly crowded dining room, the damage was already done.

The plant is still alive, but it doesn't look too good.
It's now back out in the Solar Room, but I haven't decided if I should try to keep it or not.
I lost about 50% of my plants that were in the Solar Room when the extreme cold hit. The ones that survived (either out in the cold of the Solar Room or in our warm main living areas) currently don't look so good. Nothing went totally unharmed. Most of the hibiscus have lost their leaves due to stress.

US COVID News

It's been 1 year to the day since Trump infamously tweeted the "coronavirus is very much under control" in the U.S.

"At that point, a search through the Trump Twitter Archive reveals, Trump had been discussing the virus publicly, but mostly in the context of how China was dealing with it; in those days, Trump was still speaking glowingly of President Xi Jinping's response. The Feb. 24 tweet was one of the earliest references Trump made to the virus' presence in the United States, and certainly his most direct about its potential effect on the country. The comment looks quite jarring in hindsight — earlier this week the U.S. recorded its 500,000th COVID-19 death, and the pandemic remains a serious public health threat." Yahoo News
