Signs of Civilization - Terlingua

Terlingua, Texas

Desert environments have inspired great philosophers, poets, artists and dreamers of every description.
The Chihuahuan Desert, that the Big Bend region is a part of, is no exception. Once described as a dusty bohemia,
the greater Terlingua area is home to musicians, painters, sculptors, photographers, lapidarists, ceramicists, talented actors, river guides, retirees, lost souls, park rangers and narcs.
The Big Bend Art Studio is on the hillside ahead, about halfway up.

It seems like a great mix of personalities in the area, I would qualify as a retiree, and a lost soul.

Yes, the desert areas have always attracted the types you list! Which is very cool. Love this shot of the open road and that fabulous landscape. V
