War zone

Some 5,000 National Guard troops will stay in Washington through March for the Trump impeachment trial. It sort of looks like a war zone to me, except for the photographers.

*****

We went down to the Capitol to see how things looked after the inauguration. A lot of the National Guard troops were gone, although some are staying for the impeachment trial, and the Capitol Police weren‘t so much in evidence on the street. Some of the roadblocks were gone, but the fences have stayed, perhaps even more fortified than before.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

A jarring to see that it is necessary to use razor wire in the Capitol.

It’s surreal with the razor wire. I can’t imagine what it’s like to see that in person. V

Like seeing the photographers along with the troops. Documentation of our life and times is needed. V
