Florida House, shuttered

Sometimes called "Florida's Embassy" or "The Manning House," Florida House is a privately owned education and information center located in Northeast Washington, D.C., across from the US Capitol. It provides a meeting, classroom and reception space for Floridians and others when visiting the nation's capital

*****

We went down to the Capitol to see how things looked after the inauguration. A lot of the National Guard troops were gone, although some are staying for the impeachment trial, and the Capitol Police weren‘t so much in evidence on the street. Some of the roadblocks were gone, but the fences have stayed, perhaps even more fortified than before.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

Must say, I find this an odd concept! Does every state have such a place for visitors. Nonetheless, a striking shot. V

Let's hope this will not be the new normal.

stately place...perhaps staff are off to Jamaica for winter break, and the place shuttered against Trumpskyite violent thugs..

A lovely building. I hope this isn't going to be the permanent look.

It’s sad to see it shuttered. It looks elegant. V
